Are you delivering on in-car cabin protection?

july-19-mann-cabinJuly is peak season for pollen, while many other contaminants and pollutants hang in the air. Without a properly functioning cabin filter a driver and their passengers are exposed to these dangers. Bad enough for a normal person, but a particular problem to allergy suffers.

Changing cabin filters regularly is vital, yet many motorists and some garages still remain unaware of the importance.

For example, there is a common myth that instead of buying a new cabin filter, all you need to do is brush the old one until it is clean. However, if you take water and a brush to a cabin filter, it will look cleaner, but the tiny particles, such as pollen, fungus or mould spores cannot simply brushed away. The fact is the cleaning process may actually loosen them so that they enter the passenger compartment next time the ventilation system is operated.

A cleaned filter also will also provide only a fraction of the performance of a new replacement. High-quality cabin filters from ADE filter specialist MANN-FILTER separate almost 100% of particles less than 0.5 micrometers in diameter as they are electrostatically charged and contain special multi-layered filter media.

MANN say that at this time of year there can be as much as 3,000 types of pollen in just one millilitre of air, so it is vital that a filter is delivering optimum performance. For this reason cabin filters should be changed every 12 months or 15,000 km.

When it comes to replacement quality is vital. Most major vehicle manufacturers choose MANN-FILTER cabin filters for original equipment. Identical OE quality filters are available in the MANN-FILTER aftermarket range from ADE.

These filters offer the very best in cabin filter quality and performance and at prices the deliver on long terms value. The range offers the widest application coverage and not only features cabin filters for cars, but also 4x4s, vans, trucks, tractors, agricultural machinery and construction equipment.

FAI - Engine Parts made easy

july-19-fai-engineWe continue to expand our range of specialist FAI engine parts. This range offers excellent coverage, outstanding value and top quality. It also provides access to many replacement components that garages otherwise might think need to be dealer sourced. These include:

Engine Bearings
High quality precision engineered bearings that utilise the finest raw materials and are stringently tested to ensure the perfect OE quality fit. FAI has over 30 years experience in engine repair and the engine bearing range offers some 98% market coverage with 460+ part numbers which is catalogued against no fewer than 25,000 applications or 3000 individual engine codes. All our engine bearings are packed in engine sets, so customers need only order a single box to effect a repair.

Valve and Valve Guides
FAI valves and guides are manufactured to the highest quality standards. Each part is produced from high grade materials, which is essential for today's engines that run at very high temperatures with a reduced stem diameter to minimize friction. The programme covers more than 2500 applications with all parts made in ISO9001 and TS16949 certified production facilities with full traceability.

Torsional Vibration Dampers
The Torsional Vibration Damper (TVD) pulley has the key role of driving accessories such as the alternator, water pump, and air conditioning compressor. The O.E. TVD pulley has a built-in harmonic damper, in the form of a split design, with a thick rubber pad sandwiched between two steel sheets. The damper is designed to absorb torsional and vertical vibrations from the crank, as a result of the engine combustion process. All FAI Torsional Vibration Dampers are manufactured to meet or exceed OE specifications.

Cylinder Heads
The FAI range covers popular passenger cars and light commercial applications. Most heads are supplied bare (including valve guides & seats) which offer a cost effective option if all the components from the old head can be transferred to the new head. Where major damage has occurred the FAI range can offer on some applications a complete head, with camshaft(s), valves, springs, seals etc. all built up and ready to fit. The FAI part number prefix denote the head composition, e.g. BCH001 (Bare Cylinder Head) or CCH001 (Complete Cylinder Head). All heads are brand new and supplied in a fitted polystyrene case. FAI can also supply gaskets and head bolts.
